The school premises was so quiet. All the students were busy discussing the last set of doubts they had got. The exam was scheduled at 9.30 AM. Ayushi, one of the brightest student of 7th grade came running. She was completely scared and tensed. She went directly to the Principal’s office.
Ayushi: Good morning Madam.
Principal: Very Good morning Ayushi. What made you come here? Have you prepared well for Mathematics?
Ayushi: Can you please permit me to take the exam now?
(There was still one hour for the exam to start)
Principal: What is the matter? Why do you want to take the exam early?
Ayushi: I have to go to hospital.
Tears started rolling down her cheeks. She remembered what happened with her family that morning. Her Dad who had a great loss in business tried to kill himself. Somehow, Ayushi who was getting ready for school, saw her dad trying to hang himself. She called her mom and neighbors for help. They saved him and took him to hospital.
Ayushi was helpless. She wanted to go to the hospital along with her mother, but wanted to write the exam as well. She remembered that she is the only hope for her parents.
She thought about the previous night how her father motivated her to solve Mathematics problems. It was a sudden change for her. From a bungalow to a hut, from a comfy mattress to the floor and from the study light to candle light. Her parents were facing so many problems. But, they always managed to give her education. Her helplessness turned into her motivation. She told her mom to go to hospital and she would come there after the exam.
She explained this to her Principal. Her principal permitted her to write the exam early.
She completed the Mathematics paper within an hour and went to the hospital. Her parents were waiting for her there.
She was happy when she saw her Dad talking to her Mom. He was alright now. He was in guilt. Meanwhile, he was proud of his daughter. The entire school bowed in front of her when she got her exam results. She scored 100% in Mathematics.
